Established in the year 1974, this institution stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to provide quality education to the wards of Central Government employees, Defence Personnel, and employees of autonomous bodies.

The genesis of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 SVN Visakhapatnam was imbued with a noble vision – to ensure uninterrupted educational opportunities for children whose parents serve the nation, often necessitating frequent transfers across states. Recognizing the challenges faced by such families, the school was founded with the explicit purpose of facilitating easy accessibility to quality education, regardless of geographical relocations.
